Meal Plan Monday 11/16/15

This weekend was fun!  We didn't do too much, but I DID manage to convince Ryan to hang all of our outdoor Christmas stuff and we watched the Hawks go 10-0...YAY!

Moving on to meals for this week!  Like I said in last week's post, I have meals planned for three weeks in a row.  Wow, does planning upfront help ease the pain of grocery shopping!  I think I was in and out of the store in 25 minutes this week!  Here's what's on the menu...

Oh, and for those of you asking, "Does your three year old really eat this stuff?" the answer is yes!  We make her try everything.  We may have to alter the meal a bit for her, but she eats a majority of what we eat!

Monday: {Doritos Taco Salads} Rowen will eat everything but the lettuce...still working on that!

Tuesday: {Slow Cooker Honey Buffalo Meatballs} - warning, these are spicy.  Ease up on the hot sauce if serving to kids!

Wednesday:  {French Onion Chicken Sandwiches} Rowen will eat everything but the onions! The chicken will be cut up in pieces with bread and probably ketchup for dipping :)

Thursday: {Cheese N Rice Quesadillas}  There's nothing about this meal that Rowen doesn't like!

Friday:  Not Cooking

Call me a Christmas Scrooge, but...

I know we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet, but for the past week I've had Christmas on the brain non-stop!  So, that being said, I have to get something off my chest...

I hate the colors red and green together.  I know they are the traditional Christmas colors, but I hate them.  I've never liked either color and I think both of them together are terribly ugly.  Sorry, Christmas scrooge here, can't help it.

For the past five years, we've had the same boring old red and green christmas tree and I've never, ever liked it - just tolerated it.  This year however I want to like my tree so I've taken to Pinterest to look into doing something different.  The "rustic" look with a lot of gold and white is what I'm currently loving and I'm even toying with the idea of blue and silver!

Now keep in mind this may not even happen given the fact that Ryan has no idea I am even thinking about changing up the tree - that fun convo will come in the next few days, I'm sure.  HA!  Anyways, just wanted to share.  Many more Christmas related posts coming in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Meal Plan Monday 11/9/2015

So sorry.  I've been terrible at blogging lately.  It seems like life is running 500 mph and I am just trying to do my best to keep up!

The last couple of weeks I've been anything but good at meal planning.  I feel like we've either eaten out or had a frozen pizza...not good!  This weekend I got my butt back in gear and sat down and meal planned for the next THREE weeks!  Whohoo...feels good!

Here's whats on the docket for this week...

Monday:  {Chicken Enchiladas with Sour Cream Sauce}:

Tuesday:  {Smoked Sausage Alfredo Bake} (we'll be leaving out the spicy part)

Wednesday:  {Broccoli Ham and Mozzarella Baked with Eggs} (we'll drizzle this with hollendaise sauce to get Rowen to eat it)

Thursday:  {Hawaiian Grilled Cheese} with Tomato Soup

Rowen Preschool Update

For the past two months, Rowen has been in three year old preschool and is loving it!  We had her first conference a week or so ago and had a great report!  The teacher referred to her as a “breath of fresh air”...so sweet!

At the conference, we were showed a summary of how she’s progressing and were very pleased with what we saw!  She knows most of her letters and numbers, and has really started writing her name legibly so that we can read it!

Rowen is lucky in that she has two of her good friends in class with her, but is also making new friends, too, which is what we wanted for her this year!

Her teacher is beyond wonderful and Rowen loves her.  She talks about Mrs. Megan all the time and even wants to pretend to be her when we play school at home - so cute!

I totally did the ever so popular "first day of school" picture with her {link for the sign I used} and even filled out a cute little survey I found online {here}, too!  I plan to print both and put them in her keepsake box so she has them to look back on in the future!
